Vice President of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, Abdullahi Saidu has expressed satisfaction with the recently concluded Taekwondo Seniors national trials in Abuja.
According to Saidu, he said the just concluded trials is a welcome development, stressing that for a competition like the forthcoming AAG in Morocco only needs best & tested athletes that will boost the country’s chances of a podium stand.
Speaking to realsportscast24 in Abuja, Saidu assured that all hands are on deck & that the entire board of the federation will sit & plan to ensure that they have a successful outing in Morocco.
“The board in totality will sit & plan towards a successful outing”
“The technical department will take care of all the technical issues in terms of camping & other logistics in ensuring that the athletes are well prepared”
“Invitation will be sent out to the best hands & only experienced coaches will be given the chance to handle the athletes that will be camped”
Saidu also stressed that they’re looking forward to the ministry giving them two athletes per width because they will be needing sparing partners to train with the athletes.
“If we have two athletes per width to train we will be glad, so whatever happens, we know we have a reserve athlete in case of any injuries”.
He further gave his admonition that athletes should remain discipline, humble & committed in order for them to reach even beyond the height of their potentials.
