REMAIN FOCUSED, STEADFAST FOR WEEK 13 NPFL – NRA PRESIDENT TELLS REFEREES

In apparent bid to ensure referees maintain a clean slate for the rest of the season, President of the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, Otunba Tade Azeez has charged members of the association handling this Sunday’s NPFL Week 13 not to lose focus of the expectations from them.

Otunba Tade Azeez who expressed that everything has been put in place to ensure match officials are at their best this season reminded match officials that attempts to bring the game to disrepute have become a thing of the past warning that only those who do not want to continue officiating should try unwholesome acts not in agreement with the Laws of the Game and the NRA Code of Conduct for all referees.

He revealed that the NRA is working in partnership with the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, state FAs and league organisers to ensure security of match officials as the NPFL enters the second round.

Seasoned referee coach and international assessor, retired FIFA Calistus Chukwudi Chukwujekwu of the Lagos State Referees Council will be on duty at the local scene, precisely in Gombe where home side, Gombe United host Yobe Desert Stars in an all North East affair. Chukwujekwu will assess Patrick Ishaya of Kaduna council at the centre and Eze Edwin and Maaji Mohammed of Enugu and Niger state respectively on the lines.

At the Soccer Temple in Lagos, where MFM tango Enyimba, a university don of the Kogi State University, Prof Adeyemi will be on the stands to monitor the performance of match officials, Dankano also of Kogi Council, Kano’s Salman Anwalu, Udoette of Akwa Ibom and Gombe’s Nura Alli while Lagos based FIFA referee, Olayinka Olajide will lead a Civil Defence officer from Kwara State Referees Council, Sunday Toyin and Training Officer of the Imo State council, Franklin Aguguesi to open the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba to Premier League matches in the Kada now Delta Force vs Go Round. Alhaji Sani Umar Mohammed, the Tswatswanu Nupe is the Assessor.

In Katsina where home side Katsina host Lobi, another household name in Nigeria referees family as a Physical Fitness Instructor and Assesor, Engr Emmanuel Imiere, FIFA rtd will assess the performance of Jelili Ogunmuyiwa FIFA referee from Lagos who leads Titus Luther of Taraba and Eluzuo Chituru Felix of Rivers for the game.
