The Technical Director of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Coach Ferdinand Emeana has commended stakeholders in the country for massively joining the first ever IHF global online seminar for handball officials.
The online seminar organised for coaches, referees and other stakeholders by world governing body, the International Handball Federation (IHF), started on Friday June 26 and will run all through to July 25 2020 with the best coaches and instructors on hand to teach new techniques of the game.
Coach Ferdinand, who was quite glad with response of coaches, referees and other stakeholders who enrolled for the seminar, said the gain of the seminar will help grow handball in Nigeria.
“We’ve done a lot of sensitization for our coaches to join up and we are glad they did” coach Ferdinand said.
“This program will really change the philosophy of most of our coaches which in turn will be seen in the areas our various clubsides and national teams play as emphasis will be on teaching and coaching methods, development of the game, tactics and positional attack, encompassing individual and group strategy, defence, officiating the game and so on”
While appreciating those who are part of the seminar, the Owerri based senior handball tactician urged those that haven’t registered for the seminar to do so as it is an opportunity for them to get the best of training on the sport.
