Super Eagles Chief Scout and First Assistant to the Head Coach of the Senior national team Tunde Adelakun has confirmed that super eagles friendly ties played against Cameroon was used to gauge where the team is as against where they want to be.
In a brief interview recently, Adelakun said, “We are a winning team and we like to win always.
“Though we are not happy we didn’t win especially when we created more chances than the opposition. But football is like that sometimes.
“ We went with what was available to us after many withdrawals from players who were initially in our original list.
What matters most is that we have used these matches to gauge where we are as against where we want to be. And we believe we can correct whatever needs correcting when it matters most, to get the results we desire when it will really matter,” he added.
Speaking on the newly invited players in the team, Rohr right hand man maintained that, “The door is always open to all players.
There will always be opportunities for all players to prove themselves in time. We will never close the door on any player invited definitely those that did not play will surely get a chance soon. Adelakun stated.
